The Pet Safe Coalition Inc. is a not-for-profit organization with five years of disaster relief experience under the umbrella of another organization. We are a tax exempt organization under IRS section 501(c)(3). The Coalition is comprised of more than a dozen public and private partner organizations. Pet Safe's mission is "To educate Nassau County pet owners about disaster preparedness and provide emergency care and sheltering through the cooperation of veterinarians and local animal shelters. "
For Our Friends, Inc. is a nonprofit, no kill, rescue group. FOF keeps all dogs until a loving home is found for them. They are devoted to saving dogs/puppies in need. Many of their dogs have been abandoned and have literally been found by our volunteers in the streets of Queens and the Bronx. They have also rescued dogs due to be "put down" from the Center for Animal Care and Control (CACC). All of their dogs are given full medical exams including all of the necessary innoculations. All dogs are tested for heartworm. Any treatment for illness or injury is provided. In addition, all dogs over 4 months are spayed/neutered prior to being made available for adoption.
The group has NO shelter of its own. All dogs are boarded at a veterinary hospital that has kennel facilities. We pay $14/day to board each animal that we have, as well as the fees for the medical care. We are supported solely through the tax-deductible donations that we receive. 100% of all donations go to the costs incurred in the medical care and boarding of our dogs.
****We donate items from our clients to this group! :) If you are no longer in need of arthritis meds/vitamins, crates, ramps, clothing, or other such items for pets, leave them for your sitter/walker and they will be donated!
Underdog ResQ is a 100% volunteer-nased non-profit organization. They rescue dogs in need of help, and provide them with foster homes, hopefully leading to forever homes!

Animal Alliance is a non-profit all volunteer organization; and it is where President of In Home Pet Services Inc. adopted her dog BROWNIE!
Animal Alliance rescues cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies on "death row" at several different shelters and animal control holding facilities and places them into the safety of their foster care network. They accept guardian surrenders on a case by case basis, as space allows.
Once in foster care, the animals are cared for by individuals and families committed to animal welfare. The animals are carefully observed so that they can place them into the most appropriate permanent living situation; they can assess if they are good with other animals, children, strangers, and so on, and generally have a solid understanding of their personality traits and temperaments. Each one of their pets remains in foster care until it is matched with a permanent home.
